I love to mix different styles and techniques, so i decided to scribble a hand in Adobe Fresko on my iPad. You could also use Photoshop on your desktop, a simple graphic shape or a pic of a real hand of course.
After scribbling the hand, we start to animate the transition in After Effects by drawing a path, which we then animate. We increase the stroke width of the path until the whole screen is covered.
Then we use the taper option to adjust and animate the shape, add a wave warp and a gradient ramp.
We add several more layers and add the scribbled hand.
We link it to the animation using the create Nulls from Paths script.
Then we add two layers of shade to add some depth and finally reveal footage.
